We're thrilled to share that the Vaya Display is nearing the finish line! Our final stages of software testing are underway, bringing us closer than ever to getting your devices into your homes.

What's New:

• QR Code-Linked Data Dashboard: Track heating and water usage (kWh) and other metrics—perfect for hobbyists and data enthusiasts.
• Software Updates: Over-the-air updates ensure your device stays compatible with the Octopus API and evolves based on community feedback.
• Future Automations: Upcoming software updates will allow automations to be controlled either directly from the display or via the dashboard on your phone or computer.
• Final Stand & Unit Design: Polished, sturdy, and ready for manufacturing.

Timeline & Deposits:

• Deposits Open: End of March—waitlist members will get priority access.
• Initial Deliveries: Starting around April 20th, with careful, low-rate production to ensure quality. Early batches will ship first to our existing waitlist community.

Pricing Update:

• The Vaya Display will be available for £260, with deposits remaining at £150.
• How we got here: Through improvements in parts selection and supplier choices, we've reduced manufacturing costs—and we're passing these savings directly on to our community. This means you get the same high-quality, feature-rich display at a lower price than initially estimated.

The waiting list opened last month, and the response has been incredible!

In the past three weeks, significant progress has been made on both the display design and ensuring a simple, intuitive setup process. Here's an overview:

User Interface:

• Complete overhaul of the main display, designed around an "at a glance" philosophy. All zones are visible while keeping the interface clean and uncluttered.
• Integrated swipe panels for extra control, always returning to the main display when not in use.
• Screen brightness controller with auto-dim functionality when idle.

Product Packaging:

• The 3D product design is nearly final for manufacturing — a polished enclosure with no exposed connections. More technical specs and photos will follow soon.

Panel Overview:

• Live Performance: Track your heat pump's real-time and daily performance metrics, including energy usage breakdown — insights not available in the official app.
• Scheduler: Full control over zone schedules: create, edit, or copy daily schedules.
• Status: View faults and flow temperature configuration. With weather compensation enabled, the display shows your target flow temperature based on min/max settings and current outdoor temperature. Optional additional sensors can plot flow data on a daily chart.

What's Next:

• Setup & Getting Started: Initial setup/configuration development is well underway. More information coming soon.
• Device Stand Design: Current 3D-printed hinged stand slides on surfaces. A new desk-mounted design is in development, with updates in the next release.
• Timeline: Initial deliveries remain on track for the end of March. South West / Midlands residents: we'd love to hand over your device personally and help with integration — email us if interested!
• Price: Component costs are becoming clearer. While we aim to keep prices lower than initial estimates, ongoing support for device updates via Octopus' API is considered. Any reductions in manufacturing costs will be passed directly to customers.
